The County of Polk, Pleasant Hope R-6 School District, and the City of Fair Play have called for a Special Election on Aug. 5, 2025. Absentee Voting will start on June 24, 2025. The Polk County Clerk’s office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will remain open through the lunch hour for absentee voting. The deadline for casting an absentee ballot in person at the County Clerk’s office is 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2025. The County Clerk’s office will also be open on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, from 8 a.m. to noon. more

Jack and Bluebell Crozier will be celebrating their 68th anniversary on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The two were married June 29, 1957 in Greely, Colorado. The couple have three children, Richard (Fran) Crozier, Aldrich, Rhonda (Randall) Austin, Camp Verde, Arizona, Rory (Stella Crozier, Cottonwood, Arizona; five grandsons, three granddaughters and their spouses, four great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Also 39 nieces and nephews, too many great-nieces and -nephews to count and also some great-great-nieces and nephews. more
