Stockton, MO- “Summertime brings factors that lead to anaplasmosis in cattle operations,” says Patrick Davis MU Extension Livestock Field Specialist. Anaplasmosis can negatively impact cattle operation performance due to calf abortions, decreased weight gain, bull infertility and animal death. Davis will discuss anaplasmosis and management strategies to reduce its negative impact. more

On Saturday, June 8, 106 4-H youth ages 8 to 18 put their shooting skills to the test. Polk County 4-H once again hosted their annual 4-H shooting sports competition for current enrolled 4-H members. The youth competed in archery, air pistol, smallbore (.22) pistol and smallbore (.22) rifle. The participants represented 13 counties in southwest Missouri. more

Liberator soccer will kick off its 30th varsity season next month. In the first 29 years, Coach Steve Fast has led all but the inaugural season. Fast took the reins as a new coach in 1996 with limited soccer experience and was later joined by assistant Jeff Edge. Together, the two have been on the Liberator sidelines for nearly three decades. And together, they closed out their final season on the pitch this spring. more
