Pleasant Hope school will host an All School Reunion on Saturday, Oct. 11. The reunion will be held at a new location this year, at the Pleasant Hope Grade School, enter on the west side of the building. The festivities begin at 6 p.m.

Ed Kurtz is known throughout the Bolivar community as a successful architect, but if you ask students who have gone through Bolivar Primary School, they know him as Johnny Appleseed. For 30 years, Kurtz has donned a pot on his head and a cheerful smile to bring the story of Johnny Appleseed to life for first graders at Bolivar Primary School. Every September 26th — Johnny Appleseed’s birthday — students eagerly await Kurtz’s visit, where history, science, and inspiration come together for learning.

Friday, Sept. 26. was the fifth year for the St. Jude Walk in the Park, an annual event hosted by Jim and Sue Davolt. Davolt’s are very thankful for their amazing friends that offer their support through donations to this cause. The totals for this year’s walk are not all in yet, but so far the contributions for this meaningful cause have reached over $5,000.
