Saturday, Sept. 6, turned out to be a great day for the annual Country Days event. After a cool and rainy day on Friday before the event, there was nothing but blue skies and wonderful temperatures to start the day. The event is made possible each year through lots of hard work by the Downtown Bolivar Association and many volunteers and this year turned out to be bigger and better providing a day filled with fun for kids of all ages. more

The Polk County Retired School Personnel meeting will meet Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the CMH senior fitness center. It is the smaller of the two buildings next-door to the Bolivar Aquatic Center at 1815 W. Broadway in Bolivar. Jody Pool, the director, will share information about the center that caters to seniors 55 and over and give a tour of the facility. Bring in a sack lunch if you’d like. The One Banner concert will be presented at 7 pm on Friday, Sept. 12, at First Baptist Church of Bolivar. This is the seventh year of this multi-Church Choir Worship Event. The concert features over 150 voices and an orchestra of over 50+ from around the Ozarks. Admission is free; a Love Offering will be taken. more
