On Monday, Dec. 3, Faith Leann Ryan, 31, of Flemington, was sentenced on eight counts related to endangering the welfare of her children resulting in the death of one. more

On Nov. 13, police received a report of a stolen golf cart - a motor vehicle under Missouri law. The cart was allegedly stolen from the City of Bolivar’s golf course. more

John Guy Dolloff, 35, of Bolivar, was arrested on Nov. 8 on five charges related to a break-in at a storage unit. more

On Friday, Nov. 8, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the Humane Society of Missouri (HSMO), and the Animal Cruelty Task Force (ACT), executed a search warrant at a house on Highway 13 in Brighton. Twenty-seven dogs, including very young puppies, were rescued from the property located near the Polk and Greene County line. Reports claim numerous dogs were deceased. more

A Springfield man was sentenced to 34 years in prison on Monday after pleading guilty to seven felonies, including kidnapping, harassment and four counts of domestic assault. more
