Public post-testing of the Image Cast voting machines for the April 4, 2023 general municipal election will be from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. on Thursday, April 6, at the Polk County Road and Bridge Complex conference room, 724 S Killingsworth, Bolivar. more

These candidates were invited to provide a photo and answer the following question: Why should voters cast their ballots for you instead of your opponent(s)? Voters can expect several contested races for the upcoming election on Tuesday, April 4. The Bolivar Herald-Free Press would like to keep the community informed by featuring brief profiles for each candidate in the contested Bolivar, Fair Play, and Humansville municipal races and the Bolivar, Fair Play, Halfway, and Marion C. The upcoming election on Tuesday, April 4 proposes some tax-related issues on the ballot. Proposition U — the “U” meaning “use,” as in “use tax” — will be voted upon in the City of Bolivar and in Polk County. more

The Bolivar CTA is hosting the annual School Board Candidate Forum on Thursday, March 16 in the Bolivar Board Room at the Central Office. more

The absentee ballots for the April General Municipal Election will be ready for voting on Tuesday, Feb. 21. The Polk County Clerk’s office will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and open through the lunch hour for absentee voting. more

The upcoming election on Tuesday, April 4 will feature several tax-related issues. Voters can decide on issues and propositions – two for Polk County, and one each for the Bolivar R-1 school district, the City of Bolivar, and the City of Humansville. more
