The Woodlawn 4-H club had their second meeting of the new program year with a whopping 28 members attending. The meeting was held on Monday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. Club President, Ellie Samek, called the meeting to order and discussed the 4-H Paper Clover Campaign. When checking out at Tractor Supply you have the opportunity to purchase a paper clover in which 100% of the money goes to 4-H. Woodlawn also has the opportunity to participate in Light the Park at Dunnegan Memorial Park from 5-6 pm on December 12th. The Eudora 4-H club will be ringing on the same day but from 6-7 pm. The Polk County 4-H Club will hold their next meeting on Monday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m. at the Polk County Fairgrounds. Kris, a friend of mine who is also a fishing guide on local lakes, called me the other day and invited me to go crappie fishing with him. That was not unusual. We usually go together a couple of times every winter when his guiding business is slow.

Bolivar Schools and Community Outreach Ministries (COM) are celebrating a successful districtwide food drive that collected 1,365 pounds of non-perishable food between November 10th and 21st. Thanks to the generosity of students, staff, families, and community members, these donations will make a meaningful impact for local families as they enter a time of increased need.

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, the only supplier of blood, platelets and plasma to patients at all Northwest Arkansas hospitals, encourages community members to wrap up the year by saving lives. The BHFP will continue to deliver a printed newspaper every Wednesday.
