"Let it snow" was the theme, but the moisture that arrived just in time for the annual Christmas parade wasn't frozen, making for a wet parade on Saturday, Dec. 2. But that didn't dampen the Christmas spirit, the streets were lined with kids of all ages as hundreds of people and floats made their way through the streets of Bolivar. It may have been cold and wet but spirits were warm and inviting to all the sights of Christmas coming to Bolivar. more

The community enjoyed a Candy Land Christmas at Pleasant Hope on Saturday, Dec. 2. Along with Grand Marshall Rick Davis the community seeing the Christmas spirit come to the community. more
Bolivar Pentecostal Church of God will present their Christmas play, “Somebody Testify!” written by Gwendolyn Miller. The play will be presented at 6 p.m. Sunday Dec. 17. The public is invited to join in to celebrate the JOY of Christmas! more

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will host a walk with Mary and Joseph and live the night our Christ was born. Enjoy a real life Bethlehem and a peaceful manger scene. Singers from the community will join each night. Hot chocolate and refreshments to be served indoors. The walk and activities will take place outside, please dress accordingly. more

The Polk County University of Missouri Extension will be sponsoring a Beginning Beekeeping Workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11. It will be held at the Polk County Fairgrounds Activities building, 4560 S. 100th Road, Bolivar. There is no charge for the workshop. more
