The Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation recently received a donation of $400 from the Bolivar Intermediate School Student Council for cancer patients at the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center at CMH. The students raised the money through their holiday store. more
The June meeting of the Polk County Genealogical Society will be held on Thursday, June 6, at the Society’s Research Facility on the southeast corner of the square in Bolivar. Tim Ritter will be presenting the program. Ritter is a favorite of the members and does at least one program a year for the Society. This time Ritter will be speaking on the following topic. more

Just a year ago, Abby Glendenning and daughters Ellie and Mila broke ground on Bolivar’s newest park. A memorial to pilot Andy Glendenning, late husband to Abby and father to Ellie and Mila, the park will be built at the Bolivar Municipal Airport with privately raised funds and then managed by the city as part of the parks department. more
