Jackie Selle is originally from Bolivar, but now lives in St. Louis County. She was visiting family when she decided to stop by the Polk County Humane Society or PCHS. A domestic, short-haired cat named Molasses caught her eye, and she decided to adopt him. Once home, she renamed him Merlin. more

I am hoping that care goes beyond their own little (or large) fur buddies and can extend to help some that haven’t had the chance to find their forever homes yet. more

The February Polk County Community Connections breakfast meeting will feature a review of the results from Polk County’s latest community health assessment. The meeting begins at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, in the community room at Citizens Memorial Hospital, 1500 N. Oakland, Bolivar. A free breakfast is provided. more
