A modern cement bridge now spans the Pomme de Terre River where the historic “iron” Sunset bridge once connected people in eastern Polk County with Bolivar and the rest of Polk County. The area has also been a social gathering place where swimmers linger on hot summer days and a nearby church goes for baptisms.
