Current hours of operation for the Polk County Courthouse are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Effective January 01, 2026, the hours of operation for the Polk County Courthouse will be changed. The new hours of operation will be set at Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Courthouse will remain open during lunch hours as of now. Drake Alexander Koch-Jenkins, 27, of Bolivar, was arrested on Jan. 3 for sexual abuse of a child. He is already in the court system for similar charges stemming from a 2022 incident. more

On Saturday, Jan. 11, there will be a birthday celebration for William Pool who turns 100 on Jan. 13. Friends and family are invited to attend the come-and-go party between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Parkview Residential Care Home, located at 119 W. Forrest Street in Bolivar. The low water bridge located on E 435th Road between D Hwy and S 150 is being replaced. Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 18 be prepared to detour as the road will be closed while this is being built. The expected time for this project is at least 90-days. The county appreciates your patience while we make these much needed repairs. more
