The Polk County Clerk’s office will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday and open through the lunch hour for absentee voting. The deadline for casting an absentee ballot in person at the County Clerk’s office is 5 p.m. the day before the election, Tuesday, Nov. 7. The autumn breeze is bringing with it the aroma of delicious food as Bolivar Technical College (BTC) proudly presents the "Fall Food Trucks at BTC" event. This exciting culinary event will take place in the parking lot of BTC, bringing together some of the region's most beloved food trucks for a series of dates you won't want to miss. more

The regular monthly meeting of the Polk County Genealogical Society will be held Thursday, Oct. 5, at the PCGS Library on the square. The yearly group picture is scheduled to be taken at 6:45 on the front steps of the library. All members are asked to be there and in place by that time. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. more
